UK Work Permit Requirements within the Science and Engineering
Graduate Scheme
This new Scheme is due to come into operation
during October 2004.
It will be open to undergraduates (2.2
and above), Masters and Doctors who have successfully completed
an eligible course in physical science, engineering or mathematics.
The eligible courses will be reviewed each year.
The Scheme will allow qualifying individuals
to remain in the UK for one year after graduation to find work
in their chosen field. Those who can meet the requirements for
work permit employment or another managed migration scheme will
be able to remain after 12 months. Those who do not will have
to leave. It is therefore important that the outcome at the
end of 12 months is planned for at the start.
