Work Permits for
Overseas Companies
Sending their First Employee to the UK
Overseas businesses which have no existing
branch, subsidiary or other form of representation in the UK
may need to apply for a clearance for an employee being sent
to the UK to establish a business.

The clearance is called a sole representative
clearance. The clearance is usually given for 4 years. It can
only be applied for by the first employee. It does not prevent
other overseas employees coming to work in the UK but they will
need work permits.
A sole representative clearance is applied
for at the British consulate local to where the applicant resides.
We can assist in dealing with the
requirements of the application and the submission to the British
consulate.
